Human Resources and Administration Department

Departmental Mandate

The Administration and Human Resource Department is saddled with providing enabling environment for effective utilization of available Human Resource, Equipment, Asset, Furniture etc… aimed towards successful implementation of the statutory responsibilities of the Ministry.

Operational Units of the department

In achieving the above stated mandate, The Administration and Human Resource Department is structured along the following Units.

FUNCTIONS OF ADMINISTRATION AND HUMAN RESOURCE

  • Ensure Career Development of the staff, which involve Appraisal, Advancement, and Conversion from one cadre to another or by Lateral Conversion, Promotion Exercise. It also coordinates Training of Officers to improve them on their scheduled responsibilities, talent management and present officers on probation for confirmation.
  • Management of Staff welfare, Sickness and Medical, Health and Safety, Review of appeal matters, presentation of Grievance and Disciplinary Matters within the Ministry. Taking record of Leave/Absence, Industrial Relations and conducts Workplace Assessment.
  • Ensuring adequate updated Nominal Roll, Monitoring of Pension Matters, highlighting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Reporting, Benefits/Insurance and trackling of Exit Record.
  • Organogram/Structure of job activities in the Ministry such as Job Evaluation, Job Classification, Job Description and Induction/Onboarding of interns/NYSC, posting of Staff, Transfers of Service and probation of Staff.
  • Assisting in Formulation, Execution and Review of Admin Policies and Processes, General Administration including Serving as MDAs Secretariat Preparation of Minutes/Memos, Creating a Conducive Office Environment, Ensuring Departmental Synergy, Enforcement of Rules and Regulations, Documentation and Registry Management, Preparing Statutory and Periodic Reports. Setting of Internal Operating Standards, Preparing Annual Budgets of Offices Expenditure, Change of Name/Next of kins, Stores and Asset Management.
