The Lagos State Government has further intensified its support for farmers with the rollout of Phase II of the Ounje Eko Farmers’ Subsidy Programme, offering a 25% subsidy on fish and poultry feeds to boost food production and reduce operational costs for farmers across the State.

Following the earlier distributions in key agricultural hubs such as the Fish Farm Estate in Odongunyan, the Erikorodo Poultry Estate, and the Agricultural Training Institute, Araga, Epe, the government has extended the outreach to additional communities in Agege and Alimosho Local Government Areas.

Farmers at the Farm Service Centre, Oko-Oba Agege; Army Dog Farm, Ipaja; Mosan Community Fish Farm, Shagari Estate benefitted from the subsidized feeds, as officials of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems and Food Systems visited the locations to monitor distribution and ensure transparency and proper coordination.

Beneficiaries at these centres expressed profound gratitude to the Lagos State Government, noting that the 25% subsidy has come at a crucial time when farmers are grappling with high production costs. They emphasized that the intervention would significantly ease their financial burden, enable expansion of their production capacity, and contribute to stabilizing market prices of fish, poultry, and related produce.
